Hurricane Keith had moved north so Megan and Greg must be safe. However Austin felt like a steam room this morning as I headed west. By the time I crossed the Pecos ( just writing this makes me want to go into some McMurtry, McCarthy, Leoni Western diatribe but I will spare you and save it for personal emailsah, the Old West, that was livin) it started drying off.
I thought this drive would be a good opportunity to work on sustained activity sans sleep so I went for 18 ½ hours, all the way to Reeds house in Redlands (1 hour from home) and without too much trouble. Probably cuz of my diet. I was mentioning not eating correctly, wasnt I? Well, today I had:
2 - sausage biscuits (2 for .99, McDs)
2 egg biscuits (.99 Mc D)
2 Whoppers (.99)
2 Filet-O-Fish (.99)
1 Root Beer float (.99)
2 Cokes (for the sodium)
Lots of coffee
The Nacirema drink of the month trifecta (at Reeds)
I think all the fat kept me going.
Every since we made the film and I had to live on no money I havent been able to shake the cheap food syndrome. I rarely buy something that costs more than 99 cents, unless its Mexican and I have a hard time buying anything at the store that isnt on sale. I was with my dad in the market a while back and he tried to buy a $4 box of cereal and I was like,
"What are you doing? You can get this for $1.49." He said he didnt like that kind of cereal and I was like, "What does that have to do with anything. Its cheap."
